猫は赤色を認識していないと言われていますが、好みの色はあるのかどうかを検証してみました。It is said that cats don't recognize red. By the way, do cats have any favorite color? This is a video to verify it.

  • I’m no expert but I recall that cats have limited color vision bc their eyes are more adapted to sensing light and movement. The have more rods than cones.

  • According to Google, cats see blue and violet best, yellow somewhat, but are mostly red-green colour blind. It makes sense that Maru would like blue, he can see it. I'd bet a nickel that Hana and Miri prefer blue, too.

  • Loved this experiment! 👍 Some will say, cats are color blind. Meaning, they can't see colors. I don't know how true that is but from this experiment with Maru, he chose blue more than two times. Perhaps, he chose the color by sense or really can see the color blue. He is just one smart cat! 😻👍 If cat really can't see colors, well, let Maru be the first to prove them wrong ☺❤🤗👍💕 love you boy!

  • Given what little I know about the color vision of cats, blue is likely the only one of the four that he can distinguish from the other three by hue. The others would look like different shades of the same color.
